Palma.—The Anglican Church in Majorca is appealing for your help to overcome some funding problems which if they are not resolved soon could lead to some tough decisions having to be made.
Writing in his column the Anglican Chaplain David Waller says “We could leave the lights off, or not pay the insurance, or whatever, but none of these things makes much difference to our financial direction. The big bill is providing a chaplain. So, and I say this with some hesitation you’ll understand, a Chaplaincy with no Chaplain doesn’t really make sense...”
Revd. Waller continues: “If I may be bold for a moment, I’d like to invite sponsorship here and now for our Remembrance Sunday trumpeter (Sunday, 11 November at 11am) who will play the and on the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War. If you feel you could contribute to this please get in touch, in confidence. Any donation will be ‘ring-fenced’ for this purpose only.”
